There are far more fake "Binance Official" accounts on Telegram than real ones. This article provides identification. Download access: Binance website, mobile Binance official app, if you don't have the App on iOS, see the iOS installation guide.
I. Real Official Telegram List
Binance's main official Telegram channels (specifically based on the links at the bottom of binance.com):
- @BinanceExchange (English announcements)
- @binance_announcements (Announcements)
- @Binance_chinese (Chinese community)
- @BinanceLaunchpad (Launchpad announcements)
Features:
- Channel names are based on official domains
- Blue verification checkmark
- Millions of subscribers
- Never DM any users privately
II. Fake Channel Features
| Item | Real | Fake |
|---|---|---|
| Verification Checkmark | Blue verified | None |
| Subscribers | 500k+ | Thousands to tens of thousands |
| Name | Pure English Binance | Binance Pro / Binance VIP / Binance Customer Service |
| Messages | Mostly announcements | Lots of pushing for airdrops / high interest |
| Proactive DM | Never | Common |
III. Most Dangerous: Fake "Customer Service" DMs
The biggest trap:
- You post a question in a certain Binance channel
- A few minutes later, you receive a private message from "Binance Customer Service"
- "Hello, I am Binance support. I saw your question, let me help you."
- Guides you to give information or add them on WeChat
Binance official never privately messages users on Telegram. Any proactive DM from "Customer Service" is 100% fake.
IV. Fake Bots
Some fake accounts are bots, features:
- Name contains _bot
- Templated responses
- A group of "users" hyping things up in the comments (all bot accounts)
V. Correct Way to Join Official Channels
Steps
- Open binance.com
- Scroll down to the footer → Social media icons
- Click Telegram → Redirects to the real channel
- Click "Join"
Do not use the Telegram built-in search for "binance" — the top results might be fake channels.
VI. Telegram Security Settings
1. Disable DMs from Strangers
Settings → Privacy and Security → Messages → "Who can message me" → Change to "My Contacts".
Strangers cannot message you directly.
2. Disable Finding by Phone Number
Settings → Privacy and Security → Phone Number → "Who can find me by my number" → "My Contacts".
Prevents being targeted by phishers through your number.
3. Enable Two-Step Verification
Your Telegram account itself needs 2FA. Otherwise, if the account is hijacked, all Telegram communications are unsafe.
4. Do Not Click Unknown Links in Group Chats
Even if you see a link in a real "official channel", look at the full domain name first.
VII. Similar Rules for X / Twitter
On X:
- Real Binance: @binance (Blue checkmark)
- Fake accounts: @binance_official_2024 / @binancepro / @binancecn, etc.
Blue checkmark + 5+ years registration + millions of followers → Real. Any mismatch → Fake.
VIII. Emergency
If you have already:
- Added "Customer Service"
- Provided your password / 2FA / mnemonic phrase
Immediately:
- Change password + reset 2FA
- Delete all API keys
- Check on-chain wallet assets
- Submit a real customer service ticket
